LOVELY AFTERNOON...

I have just spent a lovely afternoon with some really nice ladies in Luddenden Foot, in Halifax doing a workshop. We made 2 cards and a small gift box, and this was the Christmas card we made....the stamp is from Silent Night and we used Heat and Stick powder and then Dazzling Diamonds glitter....boy did we sparkle!! It is so easy to use, and the effect is fantastic! So, when the SU parcel with their goodies arrives in a few days, that part of Yorkshire will be glittered to the hilt!!
We used Handsome Hunter CS, and some Red, and Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke ribbon. The image was stamped using Close to Cocoa, and a Versamark Pad to adhere the Heat and Stick powder to - heat it up and add the glitter and then heat again to set...
So, thank you to Chris for having me, and all the lovely girls...Susan, Susan, Lynn, Clare, Julie, Angela and Liz, for being such wonderful students!!!

Pinky Purpley Christmas...

Hi there..

I made this at 5am this morning...couldn't sleep, so it was a toss up between ironing or making a card...!!The camera hasn't picked the colours out very well (still having problems with it, but hoping that Santa will be thinking about little old me on Christmas Day...hint hint!).I went for a completely different colour theme and way out of my comfort zone, but I was so pleased with the end result.

I used Passion Pink and Orchid Oppulance CS - stamped the 'branch' using Baroque Motifs. I then stamped the square snowflake from Perfect Presents in the same colours as above onto white card. I then sponged all over using these colours and punched 3 circles out using the new punch out this time (the larger circle 1 and 3/4") - sponged round the edges using the same colours. Arranged them on the card - used the silver cord from my stash and then accented the snowflakes with Dazzling Diamonds.

So, might get up early again tomorrow as my mojo seems to kick in then!

More Autumn......

Good morning!

everything here is very quiet today.....both hubby and I have lost our voices, so instead of wasting energy squeaking at each other...we are either just ignoring or doing sign language!!! Poor Dave, since he retired from the Police last November he seems to be picking up viral infections, colds and flu etc...and then sharing them with me - and of course as I have no immune system, then I catch them all! So, off to my workroom for some r and r, and he is sat watching TV...unheard of for him as he is always doing something!

Anyway, enough about us... I made this card yesterday using another new SU stamp set, which is from the Hostess section and a level 2..

I used Pumkin Pie and Old Olive CS (althought the Old Olive looks like it has been bleached, but it is just the photo!!)
I stamped a full sheet of white card all over with the stems in various shades of green, and then some of the smaller flowers in Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Bashful Blue and So Saffron. Stamped some of the bigger flowers and cut them out and added them using the 3D dimensionals. I have enough left from the stamped sheet to make about 3 more cards!
It's a lovely set and so versatile....and if you would like to host a workshop, then this could be one of your choices (providing that over £300 of products is sold...sounds alot. but not when people see how good they are and purchase lots and lots!!)
Just contact me on riolaw2009@yahoo.com
Right, off to finish something which I have been making for a friend, so will post pictures of this later....enjoy your day!

Autumnal......

When I first saw this stamp set in the new catalogue...I wasn't all that keen, but when I saw the wonderful creations made on other SU blogs, I decided to buy it - so glad I did!! It is called Autumn Days and is £19.95 (really good price!)

I used the leaf stamp and stamped in various colours of autumn ..... Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa and Barely Banana. I used Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie CS, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie ribbon and the sentiment is from The Circle of Friendship stamp set.

I have made about 10 of these now as so enjoyed making them yesterday!!

Good to get the camera back and working....just need to get a decent photographer now!!
Enjoy your day

No photos.....

Hi everyone
Sorry I have been missing in action again, but have had another horrid virus and it has left me absolutely drained....I even had to cancel an evening we had planned with the Jems...a Pizza night and get together, but felt so dreadful, that had to cancel....but hopefully we will rearrange it and have it soon!
I have no photos for you, as my camera isn't working - I tried yesterday with my phone, but the photo was not good, so didn't download it on to the blog!
Hopefully, hubby will be able to do something with it today, and then I can get back to normal! I have missed blogging...but watched so much rubbishy daytime TV! How sad is that!
take care Elaine x

Greenhouse Garden...

good to be back....sorry I have been very remiss in blogging this week, but not been too well with this viral infection of cough and cold which my darling grandaughters shared with me!
I haven't felt like doing much in the way of card making, but last night I actually got myself together and made 3 cards!! The one below I have made before, but liked it so much did another one!!
I have actually copied it from the SU catalogue on page 43, and it is using the Greenhouse Garden stamp set and En Francais background stamp.

I absolutely loved making this card and this stamp set is one of my favourites of the new ones which have been brought in for this coming year. The set is £22.95 and the ideas are endless!!
I stamped the background using En Francais in Bashful Blue, then stamped flowers and stems using Certainly Celery, Regal Rose and Ballet Blue. I tore the stamped image across the top and inked the edge in the Ballet Blue, then mounted it on to Pretty in Pink CS, and then on to Ballet Blue CS. I mounted the whole bit onto a white card. I stamped a small piece of white card with the En Francais, and a couple of flowers, cut it to size and mounted it on to the pink and then the blue CS. I stamped 2 flowers and cut them out and used a gem brad from the Circle Ice set for the middle of the big one.
I really, really love this card and will do some variations of colours with it
Hope you like!
